Community Guidelines

Applies to Flash videos, comments and profiles.

1. Our standard

Sudo News is a news app. Everything posted here should be factual, lawful and safe for a general audience. We remove content that breaks these rules and we may suspend or permanently remove accounts that repeatedly break them.

2. What is not allowed

Misinformation. Fabricated news, doctored media, or claims presented as fact without a credible source.
Hate speech. Attacks on people based on religion, caste, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality.
Violence and dangerous acts. Graphic violence, threats, incitement, terrorism or content promoting self-harm.
Harassment and bullying. Targeted abuse, doxxing, or sharing someone's private information.
Nudity and sexual content. Sexual content, and any sexualised content involving minors — the latter is reported to the authorities.
Spam and scams. Repetitive posting, misleading links, fake giveaways or financial fraud.
Copyright infringement. Posting video you do not own or have permission to use.
Illegal activity. Anything unlawful under Indian law or the law where you live.

3. Reporting content

Every Flash video has a ⋯ menu with Report. Choose a reason and submit — it takes one tap and the reporter stays anonymous to the person being reported.

Reported content is queued for review. Content that receives multiple reports may be hidden automatically while it is reviewed. Administrators can hide or remove content after reports or a moderation review. We do not guarantee a specific review time.

4. Blocking accounts

The same ⋯ menu has Block. Once you block an account, their videos and comments no longer appear anywhere in your feed. You can unblock from Settings at any time.

5. How we moderate

Flash videos are published when you post them. There is no guaranteed human or automated review before a Flash goes live. You must follow these guidelines when you post.

Anyone can report Flash videos and comments.
You can block accounts so their videos and comments no longer appear in your feed.
Reported content can be hidden or removed. Repeat reports on the same Flash may hide it automatically while it is reviewed.
Administrators can take moderation action, including hiding or removing content and restricting or terminating accounts.
Content that breaches these rules may be removed after reports or moderation review; repeat offenders may lose posting access or have the account terminated.
Serious harm — especially anything involving minors — is escalated to law enforcement.

6. Third-party news videos

Some Flash videos are published by news channels on YouTube and play through YouTube's official player. Those videos remain the property of their owners, are credited on screen, and tapping the credit opens the original video on YouTube. Sudo News does not earn creator rewards on third-party content — rewards apply only to videos a user films and uploads themselves.
